About the Position

We are seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our high-growth software company. Our ideal candidate has a solid background in computer science or engineering, at least 3 years of experience developing web applications, and a passion for building impactful software.

This is a remote role open to candidates based in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a leadership role by living our values openly.
  • Participate in code reviews and pair programming.
  • Improve our developer tools, tests, processes, and technology.
  • Work with stakeholders to flesh out requirements and communicate tradeoffs in solutions.
  • Learn and innovate on new ideas by continually looking to improve how we work.
  • Plan and build product features that directly impact our customers.

Requirements:

  • Strong familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (we use React and Next.js).
  • Strong familiarity with web frameworks (we use Ruby on Rails).
  • Experience working with databases and understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to build software that’s been used by real users—show us your portfolio or projects!
  • A CS or Math degree is a bonus, but not required.
  • You care more about discovering "what is true" than being right.
  • Experience building for fun or exploring new technologies on your own is highly valued.
